Swimwear in Plus Sizes
We offer a wide selection of plus-size swimwear, including swimsuits, swim dresses, and much more. A large part of our swimwear is sustainably produced. Old fishing nets that would otherwise pollute the oceans are collected and used to create beautiful, high-quality Plaisir swimwear.

How to Find the Right Swimwear Size
Are you unsure which size you need?
There are several factors to consider when choosing the size of your swimwear.
Are you an avid swimmer, or do you prefer relaxing on the beach?
Watch the video where we guide you through it all.
Here you'll find beautiful and functional plus-size swimwear. We offer everything from swimsuits, bikinis, tankinis, swim dresses, and swimsuits with legs.
We have the popular swimsuits with legs and swim dresses. If you prefer more coverage, a swim dress is a great choice. You can lift the skirt for sun on your legs or let it hang when moving around. The swimsuit with legs covers the upper thighs, which many find comfortable.
Why Is It So Hard to Find Plus Size Swimwear?
Finding the right plus-size swimwear can be challenging. Like all clothing, swimwear needs the perfect fit to feel comfortable. Mirou and Plaisir, our swimwear brands, specialize in creating plus-size swimwear that fits well. The difference between the two brands lies in quality, design, and price.
Both brands offer different swimwear for various purposes, allowing you to find exactly what you need for any occasion.
Stylish Plus-Size Swimwear
Swimwear isn't just practical anymore.
Fashion has truly entered the world of swimwear.
Show off your personality, even while swimming.
Why settle for just one swimsuit when you have different blouses?
Most swimsuits go up to size 58, and some even to size 60. Mirou swimwear offers large sizes at great prices. Plaisir swimwear is of unmatched quality with beautiful details.
If you have a full bust, it’s essential to choose a swimsuit with good support. If you're unsure which models suit you best, contact our customer service for help and guidance.
What Is Swimwear Made Of?
Most swimwear is made from polyamide or nylon. Nylon is a synthetic material known for its strength and elasticity. However, nylon doesn’t handle sunlight and heat well, so avoid prolonged sun exposure and wash it in cool water. Rinse your swimsuit in clean water and let it dry on a towel without wringing it out for longer-lasting wear.
From Fishing Nets to PLAISIR Swimwear
Plaisir swimwear features VITA 390 fabric with LYCRA XtraLife fibers and ECONYL® nylon. ECONYL® is made from 100% regenerated nylon fibers from fishing nets and other nylon waste collected from oceans and landfills worldwide. This waste is processed and spun into durable threads used in Plaisir’s swimwear collections.
Swimwear for Every Occasion
The swimwear you use at the pool might not be the same as what you wear to the beach. It depends on how active you are. Regular swimmers need proper swimsuits, while casual beachgoers might prefer a swim dress. Pair it with a beach kimono for extra coverage and comfort.
Is Swimwear Sun-Friendly?
Plus-size swimwear isn’t much different from regular swimwear. However, most people don't realize how harmful sunlight can be to swimwear. Sun exposure can fade and damage the fabric unless the material is treated for UV resistance. Avoid drying your swimwear in direct sunlight to extend its life.
Swimwear Fashion
Is there swimwear fashion? Yes! Swimwear trends change just like any other fashion category. Classic designs remain popular, but new styles often emerge and become big trends.
The History of Swimwear
Swimwear has evolved for thousands of years. In ancient times, people bathed nude, but over time, clothing was introduced for protection and modesty. In the 1800s, swimwear started to resemble what we know today. Women wore dresses and blouses with matching trousers, while men wore shorts and shirts.
In the 1900s, swimwear became more functional. Swimsuits were designed with added support, and materials like nylon and Lycra became common. In the 1920s, French designer Jacques Heim introduced the bikini, which gained popularity by the 1950s. Today, swimwear comes in a variety of designs, fabrics, and styles to suit every body type and activity.
